We have been teaching GCSE Astronomy at Beal High School for four years now. Many students want to continue their astronomy studies into A level, but have limited opportunity with current A level curricula. In this talk we will outline how we meet this need from our 6th formers - encouraging their interest in astronomy, developing their astronomy skills and knowledge - while at the same time contributing to their formal A level maths and science studies and preparing them for their application to university astronomy, physics or natural science courses
