We are planning to investigate the presence of clusters around previously known and newly discovered intermediate mass pre-main sequence Herbig Ae/Be stars. Building on the ideas from Testi and Palla et al. (1997, 1998, 1999) who analyzed the occurrence of young stellar clusters around Herbig Ae/Be stars from near-infrared images, we plan to extend this with the detailed astrometric data offered by GAIA. This will enable us to determine the position of the Herbig Ae/Be stars in the HR diagram and allow us to detect and confirm the presence of the clusters around them. Using HR diagrams, we will determine the astrophysical parameters of the stars and their associated clusters. In the poster, we outline the project for which we will be starting to develop an algorithm for the detection and analysis of the clusters and clustering properties of the Herbig Ae/Be stars.
