Type Ia supernovae are significant contributors to the abundance of iron group elements in low redshift galaxies. Current 1D models show discrepancies between observed and simulated abundances of iron group elements such as V, Mn, Co and Ni (Kobayashi et al. 2011).
In this work, the multidimensional models of Townsley et al (2009) are investigated, and the effect on yields relative to 1D models is assessed. The reaction network used in these post processing calculations is consistent with that used to investigate yields in core collapse supernovae in previous work, and as such a direct comparison of nucleosynthesis in these two regimes can be achieved.
