I will argue that "field line helicity" is a useful tool for describing the magnetic structure within the Sun's corona, and particularly for identifying magnetic flux ropes. Being an integral quantity, not to mention an ideal invariant, it is a robust and physical measure of magnetic sub-structure. In fact, it is the most meaningful way to say "where" magnetic helicity is stored within the coronal volume. I will explain how to calculate field line helicity in three-dimensional magnetic models, and what it reveals about the formation and eruption of magnetic flux ropes in the corona.
