The aim of this work is to follow the evolution of the coronal mangetic field in response to slow photospheric velocities. Assuming there are several coherent motions, we show that (i) magnetic energy builds up in the corona, (ii) it is released initially as an ideal MHD instability is triggered and (iii) the continued driving releases more magnetic energy in nearby loops and there is a continual release of small intermittant energy releases as the driving continues.
